Three local charities will benefit to the tune of 3,333 each from the generosity of clients and associates of Darlington solicitors Latimer Hinks. The fifth Latimer Hinks Summer Charity Ball took place at the magnificent Wynyard Hall to raise money for the Great North Air Ambulance, TFM and Magic 1170s Cash for Kids and County Durham Foundation. The glitzy black tie evening featured a superb four course meal, a charity auction, live entertainment and a magician. There was also a raffle to win some terrific prizes, generously donated by a number of businesses and individuals. HSBC through its community fund matched the monies raised to a total of 1,000. Anne Elliott, Partner at Latimer Hinks said: Id like to say a big thank you to everyone who supported our most successful Charity Ball yet. Latimer Hinks Solicitors is proud of its links with the local community. These charities all provide a fantastic service to the people of the region and I am delighted we raised a substantial amount of money to support their extremely worthwhile work. Graham Mack, TFM breakfast show presenter and ambassador for TFM and Magic 1170s Cash for Kids said: This is a fantastic contribution from Latimer Hinks. Cash for Kids makes a difference to the lives of sick and underprivileged children in this region every day and we can only do this with the help of local people and businesses and their amazing fundraising efforts. Alison Broom, new Chief Executive of County Durham Foundation said: Our fund holders choose County Durham Foundation as we help them to find the best local good causes that match their wishes, and make it easy for them to give effectively each year. Latimer Hinks use the County Durham Foundation to identify projects to support in Darlingtons rural communities and, by combining their support with that of other funders we can help small, grass roots projects that find it really difficult to raise funds. Lynne Simmons from the Great North Air Ambulance said: We thank Latimer Hinks and their guests for their generosity in raising such a wonderful amount of money. Nobody knows when they made need to call on our services and it is often literally the difference between life and death that the air ambulance can respond quickly to patients.
