Presentation - Family Friendly Rules Made Clear for Local Employers

Darlington law firm Latimer Hinks is holding a free breakfast seminar to help guide local employers through the minefield of the new employment laws. Taking place at Darlington Football Club at 8.30 am on 22nd May, Nick Poole, partner at Latimer Hinks will outline the new family-friendly Government policies. Partner Anne Elliott and solicitor Andrew Way will also provide an overview on Inheritance Tax planning, Enduring Powers of Attorney and the necessity of having well-drawn, up-to-date wills. Nick Poole said: The nature of employment law means that it is constantly changing and it can be difficult for employers to keep all their policies, procedures and documentation up-to-date. The Government has introduced the Work and Families Act as a step towards helping families balance their work and caring commitments. The Act has also brought changes to maternity, paternity and adoption leave and to pay and rights. Anne Elliott added: We have a family-focused Government policy but employers need to have their own personal affairs in order to protect their families. Too often we focus on our businesses at the expense of our families. The seminar will bring the two strands together and provide comprehensive advice for employers on making sure every part of their life is sorted.
