Nicola deals with sales, purchases and leases of commercial and agricultural properties. Nicola provides advice to business people, investors, property owners and land owners and farmers on a range of commercial property issues, sales and purchases of farms and land, Agricultural Holdings Act Tenancies and Farm Business Tenancies. She is also involved in more complex residential property work.

Her commercial Landlord Clients range from those with one property to Clients with large property portfolios spread across the country.

Nicola also works alongside her private client and commercial partners dealing with all types of transactions involving a property element.

“I enjoy the contrast between commercial and agricultural matters. On the commercial side, I act for a number of pension schemes. Here the members are often familiar with the property in question and are happy to take a commercial view. This, of course, has to be balanced with the formalities of the pension rules and duties of the professional pension trustees.

Dealing with agricultural properties is usually less cut and dried. Quite often the farm is not only the business premises but also the family home, and there are often multiple generations involved. Whilst this can present challenges during a property transaction it is rewarding to achieve an outcome which works for all parties.

Quite often that outcome is reached by working with my private client colleagues. At Latimer Hinks we take a multi-disciplinary view; legal matters are rarely purely property or private client issues and we regularly collaborate with our private clients team to give added value to our clients."
