Elderly & vulnerable client issues
We provide expert legal advice for the elderly and vulnerable clients, putting in place appropriate measures and arrangements to ensure that their financial, health and welfare needs are suitably addressed.
Through the use of Powers of Attorney and applications to the Court of Protection, we assist with the appointment of Attorneys and Deputies.
We also act for vulnerable clients in the creation and administration of bespoke Trust arrangements, designed with them and their protection specifically in mind.
We are able to advise Attorneys, Deputies and Trustees on an ongoing or ad hoc basis, guiding them in their duties and responsibilities and helping them ensure matters remain “on track”.
As well as providing technical advice, we are also able to handle the more time consuming administrative tasks of preparing accounts for the Court of Protection, reporting to HMRC, undertaking Tax Returns and settling tax, and complying with requests made by the Court of Protection and Office of the Public Guardian.
We have significant expertise in handling care funding issues and disputes with the NHS and Social Services. We also provide specialist advice and practical help to put suitable arrangements in place providing long term peace of mind.
